Time to Retire…

Yes, I did once, from work…    This is something else…

It has been a long time coming but a review at my Birthday of my riding habits the last 2 years indicates a change is in order.  Some is age related, some health related (knees and left foot issues) and I have decided the time has come to end my LD riding career.  I did Forkesville this year and physically paid dearly (I think “some” of the foot issues were a result of the supporting the wing at stops).  It was not an easy decision and I really do not want to make it mentally,  but I also recognize it is time physically.  The fire and adrenaline is still there but there is more suffering and longer healing times.   This was actually being considered before I moved and I held off, now it is time.

Now, understand, I am not giving up riding, I still have my F650 for shorter runs and can still attend other events on 4 wheels so you will not be getting rid of me!!  🙂   I also plan to keep my duties at the MTF unless someone wants to relieve me…

We have picked up camping, looking to do some more family travels and I think I will grab another Ural.  That was probably the most fun I had on a bike and I can take people, my dog and my grandkids with that.   It was a hard decision but I am comfortable that I have made it and once the Wing is out of the Garage, I will not be tempted!!!   🙂
