The end of October was meeting week! Unlike work meetings, these were fun!
It started on Wednesday, October 21st. Ted from the Nikonites Photgraphy Forum was passing through on his way to Florida from Cleveland. We had never met but been friends via the New for years. He stopped in Savannah and we met for lunch. Very nice to meet in person!
Then, Sat. the 24th was a triple header! In the morning, rode the Wing up to Rincon GA to meet Todd (NT4TH) and Jerome (KB1WWW). They are local Ham Operators that I have conversed with on the local repeaters, also members of the Effingham County ARES program. It was a nice breakfast and we spent some time getting acquainted and talking about emergency communications in the area.
In the afternoon, hopped back on the Wing and met up with Fred from NH on his way home from Florida. Fred just bought a home there and will be moving later this year.
Monday I drove 2 hours down to the Okefenokee Swamp to meet Pete from Nikonites. He is from TN, was on vacation and headed their for a day of photography. It was also our 1st time to meet. Enjoyable in spite of poor photo weather. Here are some of my shots.
